Post-wedding Review: Republic of Singapore Yacht Club

Dinner location: RSYC

Before this review, I just wanna state a disclaimer that M is a member of RSYC and has been for almost 10 years. Our easy wedding may have been a result of M knowing a few people thus making the flow a lot easier.

Service: 4/5
There’s very little to complain about. I didn’t interact much with the staff on that night. However correspondence with the F&B executive Bella was smooth throughout the months leading up to the wedding. No one really complained about bad service so I’m presuming everything went well. Our banquet manager knows M very well because M’s been a member for quite a while, he was very nice and made sure we always had food in our buffet trays and that the drinks were always topped up.

Location: 3.7/5
Some of my friends got lost. haha It’s true it’s not exactly the easier place to find cause it’s very ‘in’. That being said, I love that it’s not crowded.

Atmosphere: 4.5/5
My favourite aspect I think. With the sunset as our backdrop, it was really just perfect. It didn’t rain, it wasn’t hazing and it was quite breezy. It was relaxed and absolutely perfect. The decor was nice too, the florist used a lot of pink and white eustomas which was in line to my whole theme. 🙂

Price: 5/5
Affordable and worth it.

I loved my wedding. Regardless of could have possibly happened, I enjoyed it all. The location was great but the experience of having this huge party with all your loved ones was even better.

Post-wedding Review: Phooth (Photo Booth)

Photo booth: Phooth
Contact person: Carol

Service: 5/5
They responded to my emails promptly and was very clear with the service they were providing. They also bared with my fickle designs on the picture border. Which I went back and forth with them till I thought it was perfect. On the day itself, they were very friendly with my guests and even in the hot outdoor weather, they took well to the stuffy area they had.

Quality: 5/5
They brought SO MANY props! I many there were close to a hundred props – costumes hats, swords, banners, cards that said the funniest lines! I’m giving them a 5/5 because they were honestly one of the best decisions I made to have for the wedding. Everyone absolutely enjoyed themselves and was really excited about the photobooth. Some were really hogging it! haha. Everyone had so much fun and my only regret was that I only hired them for 2 hours, but in retrospect I think 2 hours was enough.. if not no one would have sat down and listened to our speeches!

Price: 4.5/5
I got them through a Groupon Promotion at $288 for 2 hours, Unlimited print outs, Unlimited props.. Go Groupon! And even though i used a coupon, Phooth did not treat me any differently. It was really cheap in my opinion and so well worth the price.

Overall: 5/5
I can’t stop singing their praises. They were awesome and a definite highlight of the wedding. Everyone loved it. I highly recommend them should you want one too. 🙂

Post-wedding Review: 86 Creation Florist

Florist: 86 Creation (

Quality: 4/5
When I saw my bouquet the first time I remember gasping. It was perfect. Big and lushcious and white and glamourous. The flowers arrived in a bag of water that I kept attached to the bouquet until 1 hour before my church walk-in. I spray the flowers with flower hourly from Friday night to SAturday ensuring it didn’t dry out.
Corsages were also given as requested – pink and white eustomas, not too big. I would have like M’s white rose corsage to be bigger but I suppose she didn’t have that flower on hand.

Below is my inspiration picture vs my actual bouquet… Pretty close right! I might be bias but I like my bouquet better. haha.

Customer service: 3.5/5
I met Jennifer last December and discussed this plan with her. She was quick to tell me what was available in my price range and suggestions. That was the last time I saw and spoke to her too because there was no necessary contact till Friday where M collected the bouquet for me.

Price: 4/5
Although it was included in my silhouette package, I had to pay them first then the price will be deducted from my 2nd payment to Silhouette. Strange arrangement if you ask me, but no problem to me.
I paid $180 for bouquet / 6 corsages / hair flowers.
Bouquet had 6 peonies. I did my research, price is definitely below average.

Overall: 4/5
Good! No major complains at all. Easy and trustworthy seller. Maybe her location was a little inconvinient in Depot heights (Henderson area) but other than that, pretty good.

Post-wedding Review: Catering Culture

Lunch Caterer: Catering Culture Pte Ltd

Food: 4/5
To be very very honest, I don’t know. Haha. I was too busy being a happy bride and saying hello to everyone who came to my church wedding. However, I did get feedback from everyone who said that the food was really good. Especially the dry Mee Siam which was apparently really delicious. I remember eating a bit after my maid of honour shoved some food in my face and made sure I ate some food lest I fainted or got gastric or something.

Price: 5/5
They were the only caterer out there who really fit my merger budget of $7 per person with 7 dishes and 1 drink. And yet, for the quality that came along with the price, I think it was very well worth it! Cheap and good. I was really impressed that the whole buffet cost me less that 1.5K.

Customer Service: 4/5
They were nice and responded to my emails promptly, often only letting me wait for one day at maximum. They also called me on Friday to reconfirm the order and thank God they did! They almost missed out my dry Mee Siam order… but they pulled through in the end.

Decor: 3/5
We only had 2 choices – Purple or Brown. I choose purple because that was the closest I could get to Pink. I don’t think there was a way to choose another colour, I didn’t ask. I was fine with purple. Not much extra decor, everything else was done by us. Another point to note is that they came down to my venue 1 day in advance (fRiday night) to set up the tables. Good initiative I thought.

Overall: 4.5/5
No regrets at all choosing them! Good food at such an awesome awesome price.

Photos from my phone.

Since some of you guys have asked for photos, these are the basic few I took with my handphone, they are more behind the scenes kinda pictures. The ones from my photographer Bittersweet by Joseph will have to wait for some time, I think. Hope you enjoy!

Bridal Nails done @ Lavishing Me at Cuppage Plaza. My artiste name was Evangeline. She’s super friendly and accommodated to my nail design that I wanted. I’m sure some of you have seen this design floating around pinterest so I followed it. The “I Love You” was one the ring finger so M will see it when he puts on the ring!Image

My Bridemaids and my bouquet! Middle one is mine, if you haven’t figured it out yet. 🙂 Bridemaids bouquets were DIYed and my bouquet was from 86 Creation from Depot Heights. Image

My Church on Friday night. Interesting story – the flags you see were NOT put up by me. They were put up by the church for a separate event altogether. And while some brides may have completely lost it because it ‘wasn’t in their colour scheme‘ I really really liked it!Image

The Church canteen done up by my awesome friends. Poms poms by me!Image

Day of the wedding, this was the set up on my cupboard!.Check out the DIY hangers 🙂 Image

RSYC set up at sunset – the view from my hotel room. Too freaking beautiful man.Image

My wedding cake, courtesy of my amazing mother. look at all the colourful cupcakes all decorated and each one different from the other with the toppers I made for her! And my favourite piece of all, my cute wooden cake toppers and my floating signage!!!!Image

Another view of my beautiful bouquet – roses, eustomas, and peonies.

And.. finally, i can show you my dress.. 🙂 It was a dress I didn’t want to take off. I love every moment I spent in it. I felt like a Queen.

If you guys would like to see more, stay tuned in the up coming weeks.. I’ll update when I get my pictures back. Reviews to come too…

It’s today!

15th June 2013

I can’t believe it, the day is finally here and the next time I check in here, I’ll be someone else’s Mrs. There’s so much to be thankful for, everything has gone so well during the last 17.5 months of our engagement + wedding planning, of course there were things that didn’t go so well along the way.. but all that doesn’t matter now. I’m getting MARRIED!

Just a few final words…
I hope that all of you who have hopped on this blog once in a while, bothered to leave a message or two, have enjoyed reading my rants and DIY tutorials. I started this blog last May to document the entire process, not at all expecting the cool connections I’ve made along the way. Those who given small words of encouragement, thank you.. I may not continue blogging after this wedding, but I certainly enjoyed sharing the journey with you.

Good luck to all future brides!

2 days more

it’s 7am.. I woke up at 4 and couldn’t sleep after that. Feels like a million butterflies in my tummy.

2 more days and everything will finally fall into place. Yesterday me and M went to ROM for our verification of documents and collection of our wedding certificate. Our appointment timing was 8.30, and we were the first. Queue number 0001. 🙂 The whole process took less than 10 minutes. After that, we went to pick up my dress and his suite at Silhouette.. Did our last fitting! Still fits, thank God.

After that, me and BFF went for a massage and a Hens High Tea at Raffles hotel Tiffin Room. Maybe the massage didn’t calm me down much. But I had the best day just chilling and relaxing with her.

I don’t know if I have time to blog one more time before Saturday, but if I don’t, I’d just to say how awesome this whole journey was. All the late night DIYs and project along the way has made this wedding really special to me. Thanks for all the well wishes guys. See you when I’m a Mrs.

5 days to go

Final leg of this race. 🙂

One more day at the office to tie up anything loose ends and I’m off from tomorrow onwards all the way to next Tuesday. 🙂
No more DIY projects at this point, (lets not count the DIY bouquets, I do want the flowers to be as fresh as possible!) I’m getting as much rest as I should be getting.

I’m heading for a last fitting tomorrow at 3pm. Hopefully everything fits well, the veil is ready and cut up for me already.
My Pink Parlour Wax at 3.45pm together with BFF.
5pm is our manicure + pedicure session @ Lavishing Me

I’m going for a nude base with a silver glitter gradient. Something really simple and classy. All done with Gelish so I don’t wreck the nails the next 3 days.

feeling like I’ve got 3000 butterflies in my tummy.

8 days more + a rehearsal

Days/hours/minutes are passing by like nobody’s business. My eyes close for just one second and BHAM!, 10, 9 , 8 days to go. It’s not so crazy now, I think I’ve planned the day well and it’ll run smoothly or as smoothly as God wants it to. In all in His Hands now. 🙂

Last night the whole wedding party headed down to my church at OLPS for our wedding rehearsal. We rehearsed the walk-in about 6 times just to get the timing right, ran through the order of the Catholic Mass and after making sure we get all the things right, we all went for dinner 🙂

RSYC called yesterday to remind me to confirm the florist colours and theme, which was easy – Cream/Champagne/Pink. Good of them to remind me though, we’ve been so busy with guest lists, slides, songs till I’m not sure what else I”m forgetting.

These are my confirmed accessories for the day!

Tomorrow Saturday, BFF is finally flying down from Australia to help me with the last week of madness before I finally get married. Sunday we’ll get together and start planning everything out. Monday I head back to work for one more day then I’m on leave!
